Popular lingerie store Ann Summers, has received complaints from onlookers who deemed it’s window display to be too inappropriate for its location on Lincoln’s High Street.
Cathy McGuinness from Child’s eye line said; “We are looking at it from a child protection point of view, so it is not about saying what Ann Summers should sell or what adults should look at. It is purely from the point of view of their window displays, which are currently very visible to children.”
The display in question, showed mannequins wearing womens lingerie and a photo that suggests a woman is whipping a man.
Cathy went on to say that concern was aroused after a report from the Children’s Commissioner which has shown that images such as the one used in the display, can be harmful to children.
“We are asking Ann Summers to display them less overtly.” Said Cathy: “perhaps further back in the shop and not on the High Street.”
