The Discover Lincolnshire weekend is an annual celebration of county-wide heritage. The weekend will start on Saturday 18th and end on Sunday the 19th.
Venues will be celebrating the Discover Lincolnshire weekend by showcasing everything that’s great about the county, from crafts, food and drinks.
It offers free admissions to visitors at attractions across the county, including free rides on Lincoln’s open top tour bus, free entry to the Collection Museum and guided tours of the International Bomber Command Centre.
Lincoln’s most iconic buildings Lincoln Castle and Lincoln Cathedral, will be offering free entry over Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th March for visitors to explore from 7:15am to 6pm (5pm on Sunday).
Entry to the Castle grounds are free throughout the year, but there will be free guided tours of the grounds on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th March too. Tours will run at 11am, 12pm, 1:30pm, and 2:30pm.
The Castle Gift shop and Langton’s Café will also be open, selling gifts, food and drink Lincolnshire themed over the weekend.
Local shop owners think its a great opportunity for people to visit their businesses that they usually wouldn’t. Local shop owner Clare Williams said: “It’s great for us as businesses and Lincoln as a whole. It just improves moral.”
